Dental School! HELP!?

I am going to be a sophomore in college and I go to one of the most challenging schools in Ohio. After talking to my dentist who went to school at Ohio State University School of Dentistry, I was told that they don't evaluate where you come from, so a lower GPA from a harder school doesn't look better than a low GPA coming from an easier school. Would you recommend taking harder chemistry courses that may bring my science GPA down at an easier school?? Does anyone know if dental schools really care/look at where you take your science courses or do they simply want to see the grade from them??

Also, any other recommendations that would help me get into dental school are welcome!

Thanks so much!

Dental School! HELP!?
I am a Dental student at UNLV. If I were you I would get as much upper division Biology as possible and try to get nothing less than a B. You need to show high grades for a couple semesters especially in your sciences. Then you need to rock the DAT. Then apply early!! That is the key to getting in. I would apply the year before to let them know you are serious about going and keep them informed on your progress. You have to be a politician too. Grades are one thing...but you also need to get your foot in the door!! Good Luck...it is the hard but worth it!!!
Reply:they just care how well u did or didnt do otherwise we would mostly harvard or yale doctors and dentists dont u think
Reply:If you are trying to be accepted into that college's dental school, then I think that your chances will be better going to that college. Ofcourse you have to make the grades too! I am attending LSU and hope to go to their dental school! They also said getting involved in clubs and participating in school activities could better your chances. So, hope this helps! Goodluck with everything!
Reply:From what I remember, dental schools will "weed" out the applicants by College GPA and DAT scores. From there, interview is the next important criteria.
