Is 28 too old to go to dental school?

I have to go back and take two pre requisites and the DAT. Should do it or is it too hard to get into dental school? I have a 3.2 GPA.

Is 28 too old to go to dental school?
That's right, it's never too late to go to dental school. I just met someone who got accepted and she is also 28. She is very excited and looking forward to it. There seems to be more students in their 30's and 40's going to dental school nowadays. It is competitive and you can go to various dental school websites to get informaiton on the average GPA of admitted students. Schools usually look at not only your overall GPA but also your science GPA, previous work experience, dental experience, volunteer experience, and extracurricular activities, course load, and more. So GPA alone is not the only determinant of your dental school acceptance. . . Oh ya and of course the ol' mighty DAT scores. And if you're invited for an interview, that also can play a part in your acceptance. A book that might help you get an idea of the characteristics of accepted dental students (for example, the average gpa, age, dat scores, etc.) to various dental schools across the nation is titled:

Guide to Medical and Dental Schools (Barron's Guide to Medical and Dental Schools).

Below are also some selected websites that describe a bit of what they're dental school is looking for in their applicants and the entering class characterisitcs:

Good luck with everything. And remember, no matter what anyone says, you're NEVER too old to learn.
Reply:its never too late
Reply:its never too late to go to any school that you want to go to. You can do it, believe in yourself thats all!!!!!!!
Reply:28 is plenty young enough to go for a degree in dentistry. GO FOR IT!
Reply:Go for it. All the best!
Reply:no ...you will be the same age no matter what whether you go or not. what is the difference. my ex husband went to med school at 33.
Reply:28 is not to late to go to dental school. A 3.2 GPA is low for dental schools, so you will need some sort of edge like volunteer work or previous experience (dental assistant). How did you do on your DATs?
Reply:Two of my classmates were 32 when they started!! DR Walker
