Hi, i am currently in college and i was just wondering what i have to do in order to be accepted into a dental school. I am trying to be an orthodontist.
What do you have to do in order to be accepted to a dental school?
You need to use Google or otherwise find a dental school's Web site (one that you're interested in, if you've started looking) and look up prerequisites you'll have to fulfill as an undergraduate student. Usually these take up about 2 years, but most undergrads go ahead and get a science degree (biology, chem, health sci, etc.) and apply to dental school in their last year of college. You probably also have to take an entrance exam, as well. Get the best grades you can and take part in extracurriculars that you really like (leadership positions are a plus). Good luck!
