Hi.. I'm applying to a dental school... was wondering does anybody know what a manual dexterity test is??

It's compulsory to go through a manual dexterity test to be admitted to this dental school and i was wondering what to expect? it's 3 hours long.. and what attire is appropriate for this test? formal or casual? thanks.. it'll be a great help..

I didn't have to do one at my school but I've heard that many schools have you carve chalk or something similar. If you aren't good with your hands you probabaly don't want to go to dental school. Its just there way of finding out (and helping you to find out) if you're proficient. Good luck.
Reply:That is just a test to make sure your fingers work well. It is checking how well you can make your fingers do little things......things that you might be called upon to do as a dental assistant. It is nothing for you to worry about, unless your hands are really large, and you have a problem working with small things.
