I'm going to go to San Francisco State University (SFSU), and I chose this over going to University of San Francisco (USF). But now that I got accepted (and didn't even apply for USF), everyone has doubts that I could get into dental school. They say there's a discrimination against state schools, and that admissions count a 3.5 from SFSU the same as a 3.0 at USF. I chose not to go to USF for complicated reasons, and as I'm graduating a private high school with a 2.67 GPA (all AP classes), SFSU's the best I'm gonna get. Is it true? People are telling me that it is very, VERY rare for a State University student to get into medical or dental school.
